My Story
I began working in healthcare in 2009 as a physical therapist. Like most healthcare workers, I wanted to nothing more than to help patients live their healthiest lives. The more time I spent in the system, the more I saw what a disservice we were providing. The more I tried to help, the more I was met with resistance. Instead of focusing on patient care, I was focusing on compliance, documentation, and billing. I was burned out, stuck in a career I had worked most of my adult life building. I understand the frustration of navigating a healthcare system that often feels more focused on profits than people.
I decided that I could continue to spend the rest of my life in a career I no longer loved, or I could make the difficult decision to start over. I started learning about Functional Medicine, then took the plunge and enrolled in the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy. Here I learned what I had been missing the whole time: we need to be creating health rather than treating disease. What I did not expect was how coaching would completely transform who I was, from the inside out. Coaching gave me a new lease on life, showing me the only thing getting in the way of being happy, was me. Personal development is the key to a life well-lived.

Fifteen years of clinical experience have deepened my understanding of the intricate connection between the mind and body. Physical and mental health are inseparable; what nourishes one, nourishes the other. My focus is on helping you simplify your wellness journey by tapping into your mindset, allowing you to live your best life. Let's work together to cut through the complexity and find solutions that work for you. Ready to get started?

My Coaching Philosophy
My entire philosophy stems from being an advocate for Real Health. I believe being happy and healthy is not complicated. I believe that Real Health is built upon solid foundations, but our modern society and lifestyles have made it difficult to build those foundations. We live in a world where we can access the cumulative knowledge of our entire species, including how to create health, yet many of us still cannot find the answers. Our world is a labyrinth of confusing health advice full of snake-oil salesmen trying sell you the next magic pill.
The truth is, the foundations of Real Health are not complicated, but living them can be. Many of us are unhappy because our bodies are unhealthy, our minds are overwhelmed, and we aren't living life according to our values and purpose. I believe in a values-based approach in order to help you figure out what's really important, then create goal and integrate habits into your life in a way that works, for you. I don't believe there are any health hacks, supplements, or diets that will help you achieve Real Health. A lifestyle grounded in making conscious health choices, based on core values, is how we create Real Health and Real Happiness.

To be perfectly honest, I think most of us intuitively understand the basic principles of health, but our modern world makes living it complicated and difficult. That's why health coaching goes beyond teaching you what to do, by focusing on how to do it. Instead of searching for answers, we figure out which questions to ask. When we change how we look at something, what we are looking at changes. Suddenly new possibilities and solutions present themselves. This is when real change occurs. This is when we stop doing things different and start being different.
